District 191 students are winners of third-grade essay contest

District 191 students are winners of third-grade essay contest
Three students from Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 are winners of an essay contest sponsored by the city of Burnsville and TruStone Financial Credit Union.
Third-grade students were invited to respond to the prompt: “I love Burnsville because … .”
Congratulations to this year's third grade essay winners and their teachers:
- Ellie, Gideon Pond Elementary – Mrs. Megan Bartling
- Olivia, Gideon Pond Elementary – Mrs. Andrea Traetow
- Sydney, Gideon Pond Elementary – Mrs. Andrea Traetow
TruStone Financial Credit Union also awarded four Honorable Mentions:
- Lahkia, Gideon Pond Elementary – Mrs. Andrea Traetow
- Augustus, Gideon Pond Elementary – Mrs. Andrea Traetow
- Paige, William Byrne Elementary – Mrs. Tracy Tompach
- Siba, William Byrne Elementary – Mrs. Tracy Tompach
The Burnsville City Council, along with TruStone Financial Credit Union Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Marty Kelly, reviewed entries and selected the winners. The three winning students read their essays aloud at the Burnsville City Council meeting on June 6.
